Introduction:
Indiana Jones and the Great Circle is out, and it’s a very good video game, indeed. It’s up there with the best Indy games (the equal of The Fate of Atlantis), and, for my money, it’s the best first-party Xbox game this generation. We join Doctor Jones after the events of Raiders of the Lost Ark, as he embarks on a first-person journey through a number of hot spots, on the trail of Nazis, giants, and scorpions that keep getting swarming in his path, to be shood away with a torch. In terms of achievements, this isn't too tough at all. A good number are tied to the story, you can fast-travel back to previously visited areas, so nothing is missable, and overall it isn't a difficult game. Let’s jump in!
Step 1 - Play through the main story + Fieldwork:
First things first, enjoy the story. Playing through the main campaign, so to speak, of Indiana Jones and the Great Circle will get you a raft of unlocks: The Golden Idol (10G),The Break-In (10G),The Stolen Cat Mummy (20G),The Idol of Ra (20G),A Harsh Climb (10G),Into the Fire (10G),The Blessed Pearl (20G), andAtonements (100G). These are tied directly to your progress through the story missions.
While you are in each of the main large locations, though, you also have the Fieldwork assignments. These are the side missions, which unlock nice little extra bits of the story and get you to explore more of the environments, too. You can keep track of your Fieldwork assignments in themenu. By completing all of these, you will unlock: A Savage Discovery (20G),The Mad Priest (20G),A Nun in Trouble (20G),Secret of the Queen Mother (20G),Sanctuary of the Guardians (20G),Savage Predicament (20G),The Kid Who Vanished (20G),A Study in Fear (20G), andLost in the Past (20G).
Step 2 - Location-focused achievement hunting:
You can go after the location-specific achievements as you blast through the game, if you wish, although if you want to keep the storytelling breezy and tightly paced, then you may want to blast ahead and then swoop back for these. Thanks to the ability to travel back to previously visited areas, you don't have to worry about achievements being missable at all.
Here you can focus on unlocks such as Secrets in the Sand (20G), Gear Head (10G),Beneath the Surface (20G),It Belongs in a Museum! (20G),When in Rome (20G),Path of Junia (20G),Ecco! (20G),Filling in the Blanks (10G),Bread is Life (10G),Celestial Delight (10G),and Tuned In (10G).
Mop-Up:
Once you have gotten all of those, now you can focus on mopping up any odd ones that you didn’t get on your playthrough. These are the unlocks that aren't necessarily tied to locations, but which you do have to go a little out of your way for. Note, also, that you will almost have found that you have unlocked several of these anyway during your playthrough.
Achievements such as Bookworm (20G),Bookman (100G),Repatriation (20G),Field Survey (20G),Tour de Force (20G),Archivist (100G), The Right Note (10G),Pest Control (10G),A Little Tumble (10G),Apple of Discord (10G),Offensive Defense (10G),A Slippery Customer (10G), Little Horn (10G),Celestial Delight (10G), and Shutterbug (20G). These are all perfect for this part of the game, and by this point won't be too tough to unlock either, given your experience and progress.
Conclusion:
There we are, then – a breezy time of it, with some light hunting slightly out of the way, but a pretty easy 1000 and a pretty great adventure overall. This is probably one of the more fun achievement lists to go after, because of the way that the game is paced and the way that you really want to explore these spaces. It ain't the achievements, honey, it's the mileage!

Brought all radio frequencies to Gina.
(2)
*Taken from UntilTammaroYT's solution on Trueachievements.com*
There are four frequencies to find in Gizeh:
- The first frequency we will grab is on a table in the weather station just west of the Sphinx
- The second frequency can be found in the vehicle garage. There are multiple tents here with plenty of loot, but specifically we want to head to the back of the northern most tent to find the frequency
- The third frequency is found in the war room of the detention center. So we will head in and run upstairs, just be careful of any enemies in this area that can see through our disguise
- Our final Gizeh frequency can be grabbed from an open locker in the Khafre Excavation Site. So we will head down to the site and into the northern most tent to find it
With all four Gizeh frequencies in hand, we need to return to Gina in Nawal’s tent and place the frequencies on the table next to Gina. Listen to her speak then take the note she gives us to complete the Gizeh frequencies.
We also need to find four frequencies in Sukhothai:
- Starting at Voss’ Camp, we can find our first frequency on a table at the back of the main room in this building
- Next, we will head to the north west corner of the map where we can find a small dock leading to a wall we can climb. On the other side is a small camp with the frequency waiting for us on a nearby table
- Then, for the third freequency, we can head to the restricted area south of Voss’ Camp where the frequency can be found inside the small checkpoint building
- The final Sukhothai frequency can be found inside a tent in Wat Mahathat. So we will make our way through the area to grab it off a table
With all four Sukhothai frequencies found, we need to return to the main village and find Gina near the dock here. We can then place the frequencies next to radio, listen to Gina speak, and take the note she gives us. Assuming we already grabbed the frequencies in Gizeh our achievement will unlock here!

20
Returned all Lost Artifacts.
There are five Lost Artifacts in each of the three main areas of the game; Vatican, Gizeh and Sukhothai. Note that collecting these counts towards Archivist (100G).
The easiest way to unlock this achievement is to purchase the Artifact guide books in each of the game’s large hub areas. These are at the post office in Vatican City, in themarket in Gizeh, and the Tongdang’s store in Sukhothai, which is where you get the Rebreather.
Once you purchase one of these guides, the Artifacts will be highlighted on your map, making it a doddle to find them. Once you have all of the Lost Artifacts in each of three main regions, this will then unlock.

- Bookworm
20
Learned 10 abilities from Adventure books.
You will unlock this achievement organically by playing, as you will find many books over the course of the main adventure. Plus, if you're going after Bookman (100G)then you will unlock this achievement along the way. I got this one in Italy.
- Literary Bug
10
Learned an ability from an Adventure book.
See Bookworm (20G)and / or Bookman (100G). When you pick up an adventure book, just press
and go into the Books tab, then select the ability you want to level up and hold
. When you do, this achievement will then unlock.
- Bookman
100
Learned all abilities from Adventure books.
There are 44 books to find in Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, and you will need to get them all in order to unlock this achievement. The easiest way to find them all is to purchase the Books guide in each region. You can get this fromthe post office in Vatican City, the market in Gizeh, and the village store in Sukhothai.
Check out our guide on All Adventure Books inIndiana Jones and the Great Circle.
- Tour de Force
20
Defeated all boxing champions.
In each of the three main hubs, you will find an underground boxing club:
- In the Vatican, it is located on the left of the main courtyard through the door in the alleyway, and down the stairs. You will need the facist uniform to be let into the club.
- In Gizeh, it is located in the main village area at the north end up the stairs. It’s the blue building, and again, the Wehrmacht uniform will get you in.
- In Sukhothai, you will find the boxing ring just outside the main village. Take the boat out of the main village gate, turn right; you will then see a dock on your left – that’s where the door to the boxing ring is.
In order to enter these 'fight clubs', you must acquire a specific disguise. The locations for these disguises are shown in the video below. Also, it is recommended that you purchase at least one 'Shaping Up' and 'Moxie' adventure book (there are three each) from the Pharmacy in the three hubs (they cost medicine bottles) to give you more health and stamina.
At each of these rings, you need to defeat three opponents. The third is the champion of each ring. Between rounds, you can find an endless supply of bandages, usually in a dispenser near the desk area, so that you can patch up between fights.
Once you have defeated the champion of each of the rings, this achievement will then unlock.

- Field Survey
20
Collected 50 Journal notes.
You will most likely just unlock this one without trying, as you make your way through the main story. I did. It's tough not to, because there are an awful lot that Indy makes during the course of the adventure. If you didn’t, then the fast-travel feature is your friend, as it lets you revisit previous areas.
You will unlock this achievement as part of going after Archivist (100G)anyway.
- Archivist
100
Collected all Journal notes in the game.
If you are after an easy way to hunt down the Journal notes, then you can just purchase a guide book, which will mark their locations on your map. You can find these at the post office in Vatican City, in themarket in Gizeh, and the Tongdang’s store in Sukhothai, which is where you get the Rebreather.
There are 497 notes in the game. To acquire them all, you need to find them all in the main Adventure missions, Fieldworks, Mysteries and some of the Discoveries, depending on the location. These come in the form of notes, recipes, diary pages, comics books, to name a few, as well as taking photos and collecting Lost Artifacts (see Repatriation (20G)). Basically, anything in your Journal that has notes counts towards this achievement.
- Marshall College - 10 Notes
- Vatican City - 164 Notes
- Gizeh - 148 Notes
- The Himalayas - 16 Notes
- Shanghai - 7 Notes
- Sukhothai - 138 Notes
- Iraw - 14 Notes
Once you have all of the Journal notes, this achievement will then unlock.
Note: There is currently a bug in the game where the achievement doesn't unlock despite collecting all the Journal notes. Take a look at this video below for a workaround.

- The Right Note
10
Clobbered an enemy with a guitar.
Guitars are all over the place. The earliest that you find one is in Italy, in the Castel Sant' Angelo section which leads to Vatican City. In order to unlock this one, you need to bash an enemy with it so that the guitar breaks. So the best way is to press
to pick one up, press
to sneak up behind an enemy, and then keep pressing
to clobber them out. When you do, this achievement will then unlock.
- Pest Control
10
Hit an enemy with a fly swatter.
There are tonnes of these in Gizeh. You find them in almost all enemy camps and just lying around in tents. Press
to pick one up, press
to sneak up behind an enemy, and then keep pressing
to clobber them out. When you do, this achievement will then unlock.
- Apple of Discord
10
An enemy was hit with an apple.
There are lots of apples that you can find scattered throughout the game. The first one is actually in Marshall College, in an upstairs classroom, and if you pick it up it will carry over in the next mission, where there are enemies you can throw it at.
Press
to select the fruit, then, when you get to the apple,Hold
to take aim, and then pull
to throw it at an enemy. When the enemy is hit with the apple, this achievement will then unlock.
Note that if you throw the apple and you are too far away from the enemy, they will likely dodge the throw so you will need to find another apple if you don't have one.
- A Little Tumble
10
Pushed an enemy off a ledge.
This one is both easy and fun to unlock. I did this in Sukhothai, where I found a guard in a tower, looking down on the road leading to Voss's camp. Press
to creep up behind said guard, then, when you are close, click
to give him a good shove – to his untimely death. You don't theoretically have to kill them, mind, just give them a good drop! When you do, this achievement will then unlock.
- Your Own Medicine
20
Disarmed an enemy with the whip and used his weapon to knock him out.
This is an easy one. Just press
to lash your whip at an opponent, and it will cause them to drop whatever weapon they were carrying. Now, quickly run over while they are stunned and grabbing their freshly whipped hand (press
), pick up their weapon – gun, truncheon, whatever – and then you need to clobber them with it. When they go down, this achievement will then unlock.
- Offensive Defense
10
Knocked out an enemy using only counters.
This is a fun one to unlock, and, for an extra bit of challenge, why not try unlocking this one in the underground boxing rings? Basically, press
or
and
, and you will perform a nice little dodge. Do it at the right time, and you will get a nice whippy little camera bob, then follow it up immediately with
to do a counter punch. You can also use parries to get this, by pressing
just before your opponent hits you, and you will parry their punch, then follow it up with one punch of your own to get a counter. You need to not throw any second punches to unlock this one, though. Just dodge, punch once, dodge again. Or parry, punch once, then parry again. Once your enemy gets knocked out, this achievement will then unlock.
- A Slippery Customer
10
Dodged a power punch.
This is easy. In fact, you will probably unlock this one while trying to unlock Offensive Defense (10G). Wait for your opponent to start winding up, pulling his arm back to throw one of those big haymakers your way. Then press
or
and
, and you will perform a nice little dodge. When you do, this achievement will then unlock.
This can only be unlocked while fighting larger enemies who use two hands/arms to attack.
- A Savage Discovery
20
Completed "A Savage Discovery" Fieldwork.
Vatican CityYou trigger this Fieldwork by finding Professor Savage, a fretful English archaeologist who has lost a friend – his young student – and asks you to recover him. You will findProfessor Savage in the narrow courtyard just to the south west of the main square in the Vatican City. He is pacing back and forth. Once you have finished this Fieldwork and rescued his young understudy, this will then unlock.
Note: In order to unlock Archivist (100G), you must acquire all of the notes pertaining to this Fieldwork.
Refer to A Nun in Trouble (20G) for a video on how to complete all the Vatican City Fieldworks.
- Little Horn
10
Cornetto eaten.
You find cornettos all over the place in the Vatican City area. Unfortunately, these aren't the popular ice cream snack from Wall’s; they look like croissants. When you have picked one up, press
to select it, then
to eat it. When you do, this achievement will then unlock.
This can first be unlocked after waking up from a nap in Antonio's office at the Vatican; there are cornettos on the table.
- Bread is Life
10
Aish Baladi Bread eaten.
You find Aish Baladi scattered throughoutGizeh. They are flatbreads, and they look very tasty, indeed. When you have picked one up, press
to select it, then
to eat it. When you do, this achievement will then unlock.
- Celestial Delight
10
Ate a Star Fruit.
Star fruit is all over the place in Sukhothai. The first time you will see one of these is on the table in the hotel. Once you have picked one up, press
to select the Star Fruit, then pull
to eat it, and this achievement will then unlock.
- Filling in the Blanks
10
Revisited a location.
This is a quick one, and you will need to revisit previous locations anyway in going after many of the achievements on this list. Once you teleport back into one of your previously visited locations, this achievement will then unlock.
See our guide on How to return to previous locations in Indiana Jones and the Great Circle.
- Shutterbug

This achievement is one of those ones that you will simply unlock as you play through the main adventure. Whenever you see the camera icon pop up in the top-left of the frame, press
to take out the camera, hold
to line up your shot, and then pull
to take a picture. Once you have reached fifty photographs, this achievement will then unlock.

- Path of Junia
20
Photographed all Inscriptions in Vatican City and returned to Antonio.
There are ten inscriptions to find in Vatican City and return to Antonio. In order to be able to get all ten, you need to do the three Fieldwork missions; A Savage Discovery, A Mad Priest, and A Nun in Trouble– the reason being that each of those will unlock certain areas of the Vatican map that you need.
Once you have done that, press
to bring up your journal, and select The Secret of Giants as your active Fieldwork quest. This will highlight on your map the little yellow zones that you need to investigate in order to photo all ten inscriptions. Once you have snapped all ten, this achievement will then unlock.
